This elegant freestanding freeform, one-of-a-kind floor sculpture (which I call Uplifting) began as a standing dead black walnut tree that had to be removed to enable a road widening in Milwaukie, Oregon. Its reddish-brown color enhances the flared and twisted wings / projections that make the sculpture so unique. The sculpture is 64.25'' tall x 17" x 15.5" (37.8 lbs.) and has a removable base to make it cheaper to ship.
…The wood came from a standing dead black walnut tree about 24 inch diameter, roughly 40’ tall, and approximately 50 years old.
… As for all my larger sculptures, this piece comes with a descriptive, personalized and printed "Record of Ownership."
… A smooth, satin, oil-based finish seals and protects this sculpture, and it is also light coat of Howard’s Feed-N-Wax (a blend of beeswax, Brazilian carnauba wax, mineral oil, and orange oil).
… Shipping -- This item will be shipped in one or two boxes. I expect it to take 1-3 days to prepare it for shipping and I will email you when it has been sent. Shipping cost may vary slightly depending on whether or not it is shipped in a single box or two boxes.
… Want to avoid shipping costs? If you live in the Portland, Oregon, area, contact me PRIOR TO PURCHASE so we can make the arrangements for you to pick up the item at my shop.
Care of your Valuable Art piece:
1. The beauty of your art piece is best maintained by periodically gently removing dust with a soft brush on a vacuum cleaner, and occasionally buffing it with a very light polish such as Howard’s Feed-N-Wax (a blend of beeswax, Brazilian carnauba wax, mineral oil, and orange oil).
2. As for all wood art, it should NOT be displayed in direct sunlight because strong light will fade its rich colors, although some wood’s colors inevitably change a bit over time.
3. Display this treasure where it will be protected from chemicals and moisture.
4. If you have specific questions, you are more than welcome to contact me.
