This unique, one of a kind little catchall bowl platter was created from black elm and is smooth and soft with beautiful grain patterns.  It measures 6.75 lng x 5 x 1.5 tall, 6 oz.    
I hope this sculpture will always generate warm smiles and appreciative comments from your friends.  My goal was to create an art piece worthy of becoming a treasured family heirloom.    
… A smooth, satin, oil based varnish-like finish protects the bowl's outside and inside so it can hold and display anything but liquids or moist items.

Care of your Valuable Art piece:    
1.  The beauty of your art piece will best be maintained by periodically gently removing dust with a very soft brush on a vacuum cleaner, and perhaps occasionally rejuvenating the finish with a very light coat of Howard’s Feed-N-Wax (a blend of beeswax, Brazilian carnauba wax, mineral oil, and orange oil).    
2. The wood for this sculpture was cured until it reached a moisture content similar to that in most homes.  In some pieces, natural cracks have been filled and others have been retained to enhance the sculpture's design.  Occasionally, over time, cracks may change since indoor humidity levels vary considerably (e.g., residence or office).
3. Your art piece should NOT be displayed in direct sunlight (no wood likes direct sun) because strong light will fade its rich colors.  
4. Display this treasure where it will be protected from chemicals and moisture.
