… The recycled old tree this strongly grained figured white oak wood came from was about 80 years old, 20 inches in diameter, and 40 ft. tall.  The branch for this art piece had fallen, become beetle infested and was thrown in a cleanup dumpster to be trashed.  It had some cracks and bug marks but most have been strengthened, filled and sealed with epoxy.
… A smooth, satin oil based varnish like finish protects the outside of this bowl and a food-safe wax protects the inside inside so it can hold and display anything but liquids or extremely moist items.
