Unique large irregular curved shallow platter bowl sculpture. It is golden brown tan with maroon tinges, beautiful rich grain, and comes from reclaimed wood collected from a storm damaged Douglas fir tree. The bowl/platter is about 22.2" long x 16" wide x 3.6'' tall 3.4 lbs.
… Local Pickup: If you contact me PRIOR to PURCHASE, with the Local Pickup OPTION you might save shipping costs (see below).
… The beautiful salvaged maple wood came from a tree 48” diameter and roughly 60’ tall, approximately 150 years old. It was cut down for road improvements near Packwood, WA, and I was lucky salvage over 3 pieces for carving.
… Natural splits and cracks have been strengthened and sealed with epoxy.
… This fine art piece will be an heirloom to remember.
… As for all my larger sculptures, this piece comes with a personalized printed "Record of Ownership."
… A smooth semi-gloss finish protects this bowl so it can hold and display anything but liquids or moist items.
… Shipping: This item will be shipped in a box. I expect it to take 1-3 days to prepare it for shipping and I will email you when it has been sent.
… Want Local Pickup? PRIOR TO PURCHASE, contact me ASAP if interested in Local Pickup. Unfortunately, shipping costs have skyrocketed, my expected shipping cost for this item is $30 and is built into my Etsy price. If you want to pick up this item (Oregon City, Oregon), AND you contact me PRIOR TO PURCHASE, I will gladly reduce the price accordingly. You MUST email me (rcpaulson@msn.com) or phone (503-307-8292) PRIOR TO PURCHASE to make the arrangements.
Care of your Valuable Art piece:
1. The beauty of your art piece will best be maintained by periodically gently removing dust with a soft brush on a vacuum cleaner, and occasionally buffing it with either a very light polish such as Howard’s Feed-N-Wax (beeswax & Carnauba wax) or Howard’s Butcher Block – conditioner (the latter is a tasteless and odorless mix of food grade mineral oil & natural waxes).
2. As for all wood art, it should NOT be displayed in direct sunlight (no wood likes direct sun) because strong light will fade its rich colors, of course some wood’s colors inevitably change a bit over time.
3. Display this treasure where it will be protected from chemicals and moisture.
4. If you have specific questions, you are welcome to contact me via Etsy or email me at rcpaulson@msn.com
