Exotic natural wood bowl with bark, live edge, lichens, unique Ponderosa pine, 7" tall, 11.5" long, 6.75" deep front to back, 3.5 lbs. 
… This art piece is meticulously hand sculpted by me, even though some folks think my sculptures look a bit like antiques. 
… The upcycled old growth wild Ponderosa tree – about 90 years old – that provided the beautiful strongly wood for the sculpture had roughly a 36” diameter trunk and was about 120’ tall.  It fell many years before I found it, then cured nicely on a steep, rocky, and sunny dry Eastern Oregon hillside.  Years of weathering in the wind, rain, snow, and sun gave the wood a rough gray black exterior that resembles bark, but most of the bark fell off years ago.  Some of that rustic exterior has been preserved to add character to the bowl.  
… A smooth and glossy oil based shellac like finish protects this bowl / sculpture so it can hold and display anything but liquids or very moist items.

1.  The beauty of your art piece will best be maintained by periodically gently removing dust with a very soft brush on a vacuum cleaner, and perhaps occasionally rejuvenating the finish with a very light coat of Howard’s Feed-N-Wax (a blend of beeswax, Brazilian carnauba wax, mineral oil, and orange oil). 
2. Display this treasure where it will be protected from sun, chemicals, moisture, and damaging heat. No wood likes direct sun, because strong light fades rich colors.
